UI/UX Lead

What we’re looking for

None of these are hard requirements – strong candidates tend to have most of them. If a couple are missing but you make up for it elsewhere, apply anyway.

• A track record leading or anchoring 2D and UI/UX on shipped games or serious projects.
• Hands-on Roblox 2D/UI experience – icons, HUDs, menus, interface systems or comparable game-dev work.
• A portfolio showing both craft and usability
• Ability to set a UI style guide and enforce it through production.
• Comfort giving feedback that’s specific, kind, and moves the work forward.
• Self-direction – you unblock yourself and your team quickly.
• Clear communication in English, written and spoken.
• You play games, and you care about how they feel to use.

Nice to have

• A Roblox place, indie build, or game-jam entry with UI you personally owned and shipped.
• A read on what Roblox players like and how the front-page algorithm rewards strong 2D and thumbnails.
• Comfort with component-driven Roblox UI (React-Lua or similar).
• A working sense of UI motion/animation and how feedback makes interfaces feel alive.
• Experience mentoring or leading artists in remote, self-managing teams.
• Extra strings like marketing art, 3D, VFX, or broader visual design.

Job Responsibilities

• Own the 2D and UI look, define and ship one clear direction per project.
• Guard the quality bar, approve every 2D asset and screen before it ships.
• Own first impressions, thumbnails, icons, store art.
• Range across 2D art, UI, and UX rather than one narrow lane.
• Push design and usability thinking, not just visuals and flag issues early.
• Work closely with design, engineering, production, and marketing.
• Hand engineering clean, buildable specs and assets.
• Keep performance in mind – catch texture, memory, and layout issues early.
• Mentor artists, explain the why, and keep morale high.
