About the role

We are seeking an experienced Relationship Manager to build and grow strategic commercial partnerships across payments, remittance, foreign exchange and cross-border financial services. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the partnership lifecycle — from identifying and engaging potential partners through to negotiation, launch and ongoing performance management. You will play a key role in driving customer acquisition, transaction volume, product adoption and sustainable revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop strategic partnerships across banks, payment providers, fintechs and professional services.
• Build referral, distribution and B2B partnerships supporting cross-border payments and FX.
• Develop partnerships across key Asia-Pacific remittance corridors, including Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Korea.
• Manage the full partnership lifecycle, including prospecting, commercial negotiation, onboarding and launch.
• Develop business cases, proposals and commercial models.
• Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Product and Operations teams.
• Ensure partnerships meet relevant AML/CTF, privacy, licensing and financial crime requirements.
• Establish partner targets and monitor customer acquisition, transaction volume, revenue and margin.
• Represent the business at relevant industry, community and corridor events.
• Provide market intelligence and identify new commercial opportunities.

About you

• 5+ years’ experience in partnerships, business development, payments, remittance, FX, fintech or financial services.
• Proven experience originating, negotiating and growing commercially successful partnerships.
• Strong commercial judgement and financial literacy.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Understanding of the Australian financial services, AML/CTF and cross-border payments environment.
• Ability to work independently across multiple teams, cultures and time zones.
• Established networks across migrant communities or Asia-Pacific payment corridors (desirable).
• Experience with APIs, payment infrastructure, digital assets, stablecoins or fiat on/off-ramp solutions (desirable).
• Additional language skills relevant to Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Korea, Japan or China (desirable).
