Junior Data Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Data Analyst to join a leading alternative asset manager. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with strong technical skills in Python and SQL, and an interest in working with financial data across private markets, credit, or other alternative investments.

You will partner closely with investment, risk, and operations teams to analyze data, build pipelines, and deliver insights that support investment decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets related to portfolios, transactions, and market data
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and validate data
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Python
• Build dashboards and reports to support investment and risk teams
• Assist in automating manual processes and improving data infrastructure
• Work with internal stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy preferred)
• Solid SQL skills (joins, aggregations, window functions)
• Understanding of data structures and basic ETL concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Interest in financial markets, particularly alternative investments (private equity, credit, hedge funds)

Nice to Have

• Internship or project experience in finance, data analytics, or related field
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with financial data (pricing, cash flows, portfolio analytics)
