IT Specialist

Job Description

Responsibilities

• User Support: Provide Tier 2-3 technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues, serving as the primary local point of contact for the Florida region.
• System Maintenance: Assist with the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of computers, servers, and mobile devices, including performing regular updates and patches
• Operations & Logistics: Help manage the full employee lifecycle, from setting up user accounts and hardware during onboarding to maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets
• Compliance & Security: Follow established IT procedures for data backups, disaster recovery, and software licensing to ensure a secure and reliable environment
• Collaboration & Escalation: Work closely with the national IT team on special projects and escalate complex technical issues to senior staff or vendors when necessary
• Continuous Learning: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology trends and best practices to help optimize local department operations
  

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
• 2+ years of experience in IT support or a related technical role.
• Proficiency with Windows and/or Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business software applications.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware (e.g., routers, switches, VPN).
• Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to user needs in a timely manner
