Job Description
The successful candidate will work across multiple disciplines and interact with suppliers and stakeholders to improve website performance, optimise product ranges, manage digital projects, analyse customer behaviour, create digital assets, develop website functionality, and deliver continuous improvements to both the ecommerce platform and customer journey.
Key Responsibilities
Ecommerce Management
- Manage and optimise the Discount Lighting & Fans Shopify ecommerce platform.
- Monitor website performance, sales metrics, conversion rates and customer behaviour.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase online revenue, average order value and conversion rates.
- Develop website enhancements, feature releases and ongoing platform improvements.
- Manage promotional campaigns, sales events and seasonal marketing initiatives.
- Ensure website content, navigation and user experience remain current and effective.
- Oversee product merchandising, category structures and onsite search optimisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer acquisition, retention and lifetime value.
Design, Development & Digital Production
- Design and produce digital assets for the website, email marketing campaigns, social media and promotional activities.
- Create wireframes, mock-ups, user flows and prototypes for new website features and customer experience improvements.
- Develop and maintain website functionality using Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and related web technologies.
- Implement website updates, landing pages, promotional content and merchandising changes.
- Design and optimise user interfaces that balance aesthetics, usability and conversion performance.
- Create and edit product imagery, banners, marketing materials and other visual assets.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital channels and customer touchpoints.
- Collaborate with suppliers and marketing teams to develop engaging visual and written content.
Product Catalogue Management
- Maintain and manage the company’s product catalogue across all digital channels.
- Create, update and audit product listings to ensure information is accurate and complete.
- Manage product specifications, dimensions, technical data, installation requirements and compliance information.
- Coordinate product pricing updates, promotional pricing and supplier price changes.
- Manage product imagery, brochures, installation guides and supporting documentation.
- Ensure products are correctly categorised and assigned to appropriate collections and filters.
- Work with suppliers to obtain accurate product information, specifications and marketing assets.
- Maintain consistency of product information between suppliers, internal systems, website listings and retail stores.
- Monitor product availability, discontinued lines and new product releases.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure product data accuracy and completeness.
Product Information & Content Management
- Oversee product data quality and accuracy.
- Manage product launches, pricing updates and supplier information.
- Coordinate SEO-optimised product and category content.
- Ensure product specifications, imagery and documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain consistency across online and in-store product information.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience managing ecommerce platforms, preferably Shopify.
- Experience working with Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated ability to both design and implement digital solutions, rather than solely managing third-party providers.
- Strong proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and related applications) or equivalent design platforms.
- Experience using UI/UX design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce principles and digital customer journeys.
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and conversion-focused design.
- Experience creating digital assets for websites, email marketing and online advertising.
- Experience analysing business data and translating insights into action.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and time management abilities.
