Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a Digital Product Manager to lead the ongoing development, optimisation and delivery of digital channels, including the website, mobile app and related digital customer experiences. This role will lead a small team and will both oversee digital operations as well as own the digital product roadmap, key performance measures and prioritised backlog, working closely with IT, Marketing, Sales, Branch Operations and external partners to deliver practical improvements that increase online engagement, support trade customer self-service and contribute to measurable business outcomes. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who combines strong commercial thinking, customer focus, analytical capability and delivery discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the digital product roadmap for Middy’s website, mobile app and related digital channels, ensuring priorities align to customer needs, commercial goals and business strategy
  • Define, monitor and improve key digital performance measures, including online conversion, revenue, customer engagement, search performance, checkout completion, self-service adoption and site performance
  • Use analytics, customer feedback, staff input and usability insights to identify friction points, improvement opportunities and initiatives that enhance the end-to-end digital customer experience
  • Own and manage a single prioritised backlog for the website and app, translating business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery-ready requirements
  • Work closely with IT, Marketing, Sales, Branch Operations, Customer Service, leadership and external partners to gather requirements, align priorities and communicate roadmap decisions and delivery progress
  • Partner with developers, QA, UX/UI, architects and vendors to ensure work is clearly scoped, prioritised and ready for delivery through an Agile or hybrid delivery approach
  • Plan and lead User Acceptance Testing for digital releases, including test scenarios, business workflow validation, analytics checks, usability considerations and release readiness
  • Support release communications, go-live activity and post-release monitoring to ensure changes are adopted, issues are addressed and benefits are measured
  • Ensure digital changes meet relevant privacy, security, accessibility, brand and operational standards, working with internal teams to manage risk and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Champion a customer-first and continuous improvement mindset, driving practical outcomes that increase online engagement, improve self-service and reduce unnecessary manual effort
  • People management of a small team and oversight of digital operations including content management, product enrichment, digital marketing execution

What will you need to succeed?

  • Proven experience in digital product management, product ownership, ecommerce, customer portals or a similar digital delivery role, ideally in a wholesale environment
  • Strong understanding of website and mobile app customer journeys, with the ability to identify practical improvements that increase engagement, conversion and self-service adoption
  • Experience owning and prioritising a product backlog, writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and working with delivery teams to progress work through to release
  • Commercial and analytical mindset, with confidence using data, customer insights and performance measures to guide priorities and assess outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across IT, Marketing, Sales, Branch Operations, Customer Service and external partners
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate business needs into clear digital requirements and explain roadmap decisions in a practical, commercially focused way
  • Good understanding of Agile or hybrid delivery methods, release planning, user acceptance testing and post-release monitoring
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a hands-on, fast-moving environment
  • A customer-first mindset and genuine interest in improving digital experiences for trade customers and internal teams
