Data Warehouse Developer / Data Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and execution of migrating Oracle-based legacy data warehouse workloads into a centralized data warehouse platform.
• Analyze, reverse-engineer, and document poorly documented legacy Oracle programs and business logic.
• Design and implement scalable reporting data pipelines while preserving existing output formats for downstream systems.
• Ensure regulatory reporting requirements remain fully compliant throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Develop migration strategies and execution plans utilizing AWS services and migration tools where appropriate.
• Implement comprehensive data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes.
• Plan and execute phased migration approaches with extensive testing to minimize business risk and operational impact.
• Collaborate with business, risk, compliance, and technical teams to validate reporting accuracy and completeness.
• Provide ongoing optimization, troubleshooting, and support for data pipelines and reporting solutions post-migration.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Warehouse Development, Data Engineering, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c or later).
• Advanced expertise in:
• SQL performance tuning
• PL/SQL development
• Database schema design
• Query optimization
• Proven experience working with legacy systems and undocumented code bases.
• Strong background in ETL/ELT design, development, and optimization.
• Experience supporting regulatory reporting systems and compliance-driven environments.
• Deep understanding of data migration methodologies, reconciliation, and validation processes.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS cloud services and migration tools such as:
• AWS DMS
• AWS Data Pipeline
• Other AWS data services
• Previous involvement in Oracle-to-centralized data warehouse migration projects.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience within financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks such as:
• IFRS
• Basel
• Solvency II
