Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of modern web development practices and tools. Familiarity with APIs and basic backend concepts is essential, along with strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in education, technology, and startup environments. Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React or Next.js is preferred. Additionally, familiarity with version control systems like Git and experience with responsive design principles are advantageous. The ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and adapt to a dynamic environment will contribute to success in this role.

Responsibilities

The Web Developer Intern will be responsible for building and maintaining responsive websites and web applications to support Nichols College’s digital initiatives. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams—such as product, design, and education—to develop and deploy new features, ensuring optimal performance, accessibility, and user experience across various platforms. The intern will assist in testing, debugging, and deploying web solutions, as well as supporting the development of internal tools and student-facing platforms. Additionally, the role involves participating in code reviews, documenting technical processes, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts to enhance the college’s online presence and digital tools.
