Web Developer

Job Description

This role is ideal for someone who thinks like an engineer, builds with best practices, and prioritises maintainability, performance, and seamless user experiences over visual design.

Key Responsibilities

• Rapidly interpret ideas, workflows and logic into functional, user-friendly designs
• Create mockups and prototypes to trial and execute new sales and UX strategies
• Apply product-thinking to front-end development, balancing usability, performance, and aesthetics
• Build and optimise UX/UI experiences across desktop and mobile devices
• Improve customer journeys by guiding users from point A to point B in the most seamless way possible
• Integrate and customise Shopify apps, extensions and third-party tools
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to continuously improve site functionality and design
• Ensure best practices in performance, accessibility and responsiveness

Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in Shopify development or UX/UI-focused web development (junior to senior levels welcome)

Strong proficiency in:

• HTML5, CSS3 (proficiency in CSS3 and modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS))
• JavaScript / jQuery
• Shopify Liquid
• React (or modern JS frameworks)
• Experience with full-stack development concepts and API integrations
• Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and customer-first design
• Ability to create visually appealing, custom Shopify pages and themes
• Comfortable working hands-on in Shopify themes and storefront architecture
• Experience integrating and managing third-party apps and custom extensions
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to move fast without sacrificing quality
