Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Analyse website usage, user behaviour, and performance data to identify friction points and opportunities for improvement
  • Design and refine UX/UI solutions that improve usability, engagement, and conversion across desktop and mobile
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to optimise customer journeys, product discovery, and checkout flows
  • Create and evolve page layouts, templates, and UI components within WordPress using page builders and theme frameworks
  • Translate insights from analytics, heatmaps, and testing into clear recommendations and design improvements
  • Ensure consistency across visual design, interaction patterns, and brand execution across all sites
  • Contribute to accessibility, responsive design, and usability best practices
  • Work alongside the senior web developer to implement UX‑led enhancements and continuous improvements

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in UX/UI design for websites, particularly eCommerce
  • Proven ability to interpret website analytics, user behaviour, and usage patterns to inform design decisions
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with the ability to inspect, adjust, and implement UI changes within WordPress
  • Hands-on experience working within WordPress (themes, page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg)
  • Solid understanding of user-centred design principles, accessibility, and usability
  • Strong visual design skills, including layout, spacing, hierarchy, and typography
  • Ability to translate insights, wireframes, or concepts into practical, user-focused site improvements
  • Confidence working cross-functionally with marketing, ecommerce, and development teams

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with design tools such as Adobe XD, Photoshop, or Illustrator
  • Familiarity with GA4, heatmapping tools (e.g. Hotjar), A/B testing, and CRO methodologies
  • Experience with WordPress customisation, plugins, or theme adjustments
  • Exposure to version control (Git) or modern development workflows
  • 1+ year of experience in UX/UI, digital experience, frontend, or conversion-focused web roles (portfolios encouraged)
