Technical Designer

Job Description

The role

• Translate design concepts and won projects into detailed, manufacturing-ready drawings
• Produce CNC/CAM files, cut lists and nesting, and prepare output for the in-house CNC and nesting machines
• Liaise with CNC operators on design specifications and best-practice processes
• Work with customers on client-specific designs and requirements
• Liaise with suppliers on componentry and best practice
• Work closely design and production teams to create designs that are efficient, practical, and easy to manufacture.
• Help refine drawing standards and workflows as the business grows

About you

• A qualification or background in industrial design, or a related design/drafting discipline- graduates are welcome to apply
• Confident in 3D CAD design and modelling; experience with SolidWorks, Pytha or a similar package is an advantage 
• Experience with, or a genuine appetite to learn, CAM software and manufacturing workflows
• An eye for detail, accuracy and real curiosity about how things are made
• Strong communication skills, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Energy, enthusiasm, good time management and a proactive, problem-solving approach
• Above all, keen to learn their way of working and develop your career
