Job Description

As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concepts and feature development through to testing, release and ongoing product enhancement.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing desktop applications using C++ and Qt
  • Developing user interfaces that configure, control and monitor advanced communications products
  • Working closely with Embedded Software and Hardware Engineers to integrate applications with embedded devices
  • Developing networking functionality using TCP/IP and related communications protocols
  • Participating in software design, code reviews and technical discussions
  • Debugging and troubleshooting complex software and hardware interactions
  • Supporting software verification, testing and continuous improvement activities
  • Producing clear technical documentation to support development and ongoing product maintenance
  • Contributing to the evolution of our application software architecture and engineering practices

About You

You’re degree-qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, with experience developing desktop applications using modern C++.

You have strong object-oriented programming skills and practical experience with Qt, whether using Qt Widgets, Qt Quick or QML. You’re comfortable developing applications that communicate over TCP/IP networks and enjoy solving complex technical problems.

Experience with Python, REST APIs, Linux application development, CI/CD or automated testing would be advantageous. Exposure to embedded Linux, communications systems, Software Defined Radio or applications that interact closely with hardware would also be highly regarded.
