Senior Project Manager

Job Description

Your Key Accountabilities:
• Lead the planning, procurement, design management, construction, and handover of major capital works projects for new schools or significant school upgrades.
• Manage project budgets, procurement processes, construction contracts and consultant agreements in accordance with government guidelines.
• Identify and manage project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure issues are escalated where appropriate.
• Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including school leaders, local communities, contractors, and government agencies.
• Prepare and present detailed reports, briefings, business cases and project updates to senior leadership and the Project Director.
• Ensure that projects comply with health and safety legislation, environmental standards, building codes, and departmental policies.
• Mentor and support project team members and contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery frameworks.

Key challenges will include:
• Coordinating complex, high-value projects in operational school environments.
• Managing diverse stakeholder expectations while maintaining programme goals.
• Responding to unforeseen challenges such as site issues, supply chain delays, or budget variations within tight timeframes.
