Job Description

Your new role

Working as part of a small, high-performing BAU and project team, you will design, implement and administer Microsoft cloud and on‑premise systems across their full lifecycle, from build through to operational support. The role blends hands-on engineering with automation, security uplift and platform modernisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engineering and automating Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Azure Bicep)
  • Administering and optimising Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including Endpoint Manager, Defender and tenant-wide services
  • Supporting Windows Server and end-user computing environments, including patching, build standards and operational documentation
  • Managing virtualised environments across Citrix, VMware and Windows 365, including VDI image maintenance
  • Administering and supporting Dynamics 365 (on‑prem and cloud/PowerApps) and SharePoint Online, including migration away from legacy on‑prem platforms
  • Managing SQL Server environments, backups, restores and performance tuning
  • Automating routine system and operational tasks using PowerShell
  • Embedding PSPF ISM or NIST-aligned security controls into system builds and configurations
  • Contributing to a security-focused environment through tools such as Microsoft 365 Defender and vulnerability management platforms
  • Mentoring junior staff and contributing to a collaborative, delivery-focused team culture

What you’ll need to succeed

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft 365, Office 365 and Microsoft Azure tenants
  • Strong hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 (on‑prem and cloud) and SharePoint Online
  • Proven capability supporting Windows Server, desktop and endpoint environments, including Endpoint Manager (SCCM/Intune)
  • Solid experience across Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Windows patching
  • Experience working with VMware and Citrix virtualised environments
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, ideally Azure Bicep
  • Experience implementing or supporting Microsoft 365 Defender and/or vulnerability management tooling
  • The ability to document build standards, processes and operational procedures clearly
  • A calm, methodical approach under pressure, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset, including mentoring and uplifting less experienced team members
