Senior/Lead Civil Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Technically lead and deliver the design of pumping stations, water, wastewater, and stormwater systems including detailed engineering
• Work in collaboration with Discipline lead, Project lead, other discipline leads, engineers, and designers
• Ensure the use of consistent design standards and best practices on projects in line with the technical direction of the discipline
• Developing excellence by ensuring project efficiencies are achieved
• Ensure that the quality programs, appropriate design procedures and systems are followed

Person specification

• Professionally qualified Engineer, MEng or BEng (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering having experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects, Sewerage reticulation, Water distribution, design of pump stations, cross-country pipelines, Stormwater management, open channels, pipe fittings and pipe connection details etc.
• 7-15 years of relevant experience on working Civil engineering projects
• At least 7 years of experience of leading and managing Civil Engineering design projects. Experience of working for Middle East projects preferable
• Good knowledge of construction techniques and practices
• Flexible attitude to accept different work assignments.
• Health and Safety aspects in design
• Working experience of CAD and Civil3D
• Excellent data presentation abilities (MS Office)
• Ability to work in collaborative multi-disciplinary engineering environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to make decisions independently and strong problem resolutions skills.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Willing to work for different regions and willing to learn
• Professionally accredited or working towards it (ICE UK/ CIWEM)
