Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

Your new role

Working within a collaborative infrastructure and platform team, you will be responsible for the design, delivery and ongoing optimisation of AWS cloud services. You will partner closely with architecture, engineering and operations teams to deliver reliable, secure and cost-effective solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and optimising the AWS landing zone, including provisioning resources, enforcing governance and improving cost efficiency
• Designing, building and deploying scalable cloud solutions using services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, Route 53 and CloudFormation
• Implementing and maintaining security controls across AWS environments, including IAM, encryption, key management and network security
• Monitoring platform performance and compliance using tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail and AWS Config
• Contributing to automation initiatives, including infrastructure as code and enhancements to build, test and deployment pipelines
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and platform issues across hybrid cloud and on premise environments
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable services aligned to business requirements
• Producing high quality technical documentation and ensuring delivery milestones are met

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong hands-on AWS engineering experience within enterprise or government environments, along with the ability to work across hybrid cloud platforms.

You will demonstrate:

• Extensive experience with AWS and Azure in hybrid and on premise environments
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services including compute, storage, networking and serverless technologies
• Proven experience implementing AWS security controls, including IAM policies, security groups and encryption standards
• Experience managing monitoring, logging and compliance across AWS environments
• Strong troubleshooting capability across infrastructure and application layers
• Exposure to cost optimisation, performance tuning and risk management practices
• Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and contribute within a multidisciplinary team
