Job Description

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:

• Support senior project managers with planning, coordination, and regular reporting across multiple projects
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including business cases, project briefs, schedules, risk registers, and progress reports
• Maintain accurate project records using document management systems (such as Aconex) and in line with Council policies and governance requirements
• Assist with procurement activities, including preparing tender documentation, managing tender processes, and participating in evaluation panels
• Monitor project budgets, cashflows, program timelines, risk registers, and provide monthly updates to senior staff
• Support stakeholder engagement by coordinating communication with consultants, contractors, internal teams, and community participants

What You’ll Bring

To perform effectively in this role, you will need:

• A tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in project management, building and construction, architecture, engineering, or a related field
• Working knowledge of project management processes, including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and reporting
• Experience managing contracts, project records, and technical documentation
• The ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining accurate records and attention to detail

The following skills and experience are desirable:

• Formal project management certification (such as PMP or PRINCE2)
• Experience using Microsoft 365 tools, including MS Project
• Experience supporting capital works projects within a government or public sector environment
