Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Design sheet metal enclosures, brackets, mounts, and assemblies.
• Develop products from concept through prototype to production.
• Perform mechanical fitment, tolerance stack-up, and interference analysis.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, and design improvements.
• Work closely with electrical, embedded, and software teams for product integration.
• Resolve manufacturing and assembly issues through design modifications.
• Coordinate with vendors for fabrication, machining, sheet metal, and prototype development.
  

Required Skills

• 1–2 years of experience in mechanical product design.
• Proficiency in FreeCAD (Mandatory).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (Preferred) or Autodesk Inventor/Fusion 360.
• Good knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of fasteners, bearings, hinges, and standard mechanical components.
• Ability to assemble, evaluate, and troubleshoot prototypes.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with healthcare devices, kiosks, industrial equipment, or automation products.
• Basic understanding of vibration, structural strength, and enclosure design.
• Familiarity with 3D printing for rapid prototyping.
• Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
  

Nice to Have

• • Exposure to ISO documentation and Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECO) processes.
