Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting in Saint Louis, MO (hybrid). Summary: A well-established, publicly traded organization is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to support external reporting, technical accounting, and the financial close process. This role offers meaningful exposure to complex accounting matters, regulatory reporting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys technical research, process improvement, and contributing to a high-performing finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements
- Own the end-to-end SEC reporting process, including drafting, reviewing, and filing periodic and current reports such as Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K
- Lead the preparation, review, and coordination of external financial filings and related disclosures in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Research and document complex accounting topics, including interpretation and implementation of new or evolving accounting standards
- Maintain and support internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with public company requirements, including SOX
- Monitor regulatory and disclosure requirements and evaluate peer company practices to enhance reporting quality and consistency
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and close processes through automation, standardization, and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting and/or technical accounting
- Strong Excel skills; Experience with large ERP systems preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and written communication
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams
