Manager of Data Science and Business Intelligence

Job Description

Responsibilities
• Analyze database designs and implementations to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI).
• Build and manage company Data Warehouse and Reporting solutions.
• Build reports using PowerBI.
• Design and build KPIs to help the business track success.
• Support analysts throughout the company.
• Build data models to support analysts’ reporting needs.
• Create data monitoring models for each product and collaborate with the marketing team for new releases.
• Lead the implementation of data modeling solutions.
• Utilize data science/applied statistical techniques like anomaly detection, machine learning, expert systems, and/or experimentation.
• Help maintain the integrity and security of the company database.
• Confer with staff, users, and management to establish data requirements for new systems or modifications.
• Coordinate with third-party IT vendors.
• Provide reports or data that end users may require.
• Define requirements and develop “productized” data sets: Transform, mine, clean, and combine large and/or complex data to build simplified datasets that are accessible, understandable, and usable.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s of Science (BS) Degree required; Data Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required (Master’s degree preferred).
• 8+ years’ experience in data science.
• 3-5 years experience leading/managing a team.
• Knowledge of SQL; nice to have Python, Snowflake, DBT, or similar toolsets.
• Experience with ML solutions.
• AWS background a plus; must have Azure, AWS, or Google platform experience.
• Experience in ML and statistics.
• Demonstrated data-driven problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated a bias for quality and test coverage.
• Must be able to develop creative solutions to problems.
• Experience in a user support role within a manufacturing setting a plus.
