Selection Criteria

1. Technical Knowledge and ICT Support
Demonstrated ability to provide technical support for Windows and Apple devices, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software. Experience with device management platforms such as Mosyle MDM, Apple School Manager, Microsoft Intune, MDT or similar technologies would be highly regarded.

2. Problem Solving and Technical Diagnosis
Demonstrated ability to investigate, diagnose and resolve ICT issues efficiently, including hardware, software, networking and connectivity problems. Ability to apply analytical thinking to identify the root cause of technical issues and restore services with minimal disruption to staff and students.

3. Organisation, Project Support and Continuous Improvement
Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload, maintain accurate ICT asset records and documentation, and contribute to ICT projects. A commitment to identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and device management practices while supporting the school’s evolving technology environment.

4. Communication, Customer Service and Teamwork
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide professional, responsive and effective ICT support to staff and students. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, leadership, the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP) and external providers while also working independently when required.

5. Learning, Innovation and Adaptability
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning and the ability to quickly acquire new technical knowledge and skills. Willingness to research and evaluate emerging technologies, adapt to changing ICT environments, and contribute to the future development of school technology systems in line with Department of Education policies and standards.

Role

This position suits a motivated technician who enjoys hands-on device work and is keen to contribute to IT support at EGSS
Working in partnership with the TSSP to develop the school infrastructure, while growing their ICT skills in a professional school environment.

The School IT Technician provides reliable technical support for staff and student devices at EGSS. The role focuses on device management, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Windows and Apple devices to support effective school operations.

The successful candidate will be organised and self-driven, with a strong willingness to learn, quickly investigate and diagnose issues, and develop new skills. The applicant will look for opportunities to improve school systems and processes.

Responsibilities

Device Management & Deployment

• Install, configure, and maintain school-owned Windows and Apple devices for staff and students.
• Support Apple device management through Mosyle MDM.
• Assist with Windows deployments (experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), and Intune, would be beneficial).
• Help develop and maintain an asset register for school devices and equipment, including working with the library catalogue to track device movement.
• Support preparation for SharePoint integration.
• Support of Staff device management, User profile backup and restore, updating windows image from ISO or Wim.
• Device Driver installation and fault diagnostics experience with DISM

Diagnostics & Support

• Quickly investigate, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues on staff and student devices.
• Restore Wi-Fi functionality to personal and school devices.
• Provide support to staff on technical queries and day-to-day device use.
• Apply understanding of basic network patching, locating network points when troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Support AirServer connectivity with staff and student devices.
• With support from the TSSP The ability to restore services after faults or power outages.
