Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategy for existing products (domestic + export).
  • Manage and grow Key Accounts strategic account planning, quarterly business reviews, multi-level relationship building (Procurement + Technical + QA + Senior Management at customer end).
  • Drive new customer acquisition and new application development for existing molecules.
  • Achieve volume & value growth targets while protecting/improving margins.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM discipline.
  • Coordinate closely with plant (Production, QA, Dispatch) to ensure OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) delivery and quick resolution of customer complaints/technical queries.
  • Support regulatory/customer audits from commercial side (documentation, technical data, capability presentations).
  • Strategic sourcing of key raw materials and intermediates develop alternate vendors, negotiate long-term contracts, manage price volatility.
  • Vendor development, evaluation, and performance monitoring (quality, delivery, cost, compliance).
  • Optimize purchase cost and inventory while ensuring consistent quality and supply security.
  • Coordinate with plant on material planning, lead times, and quality issues.
  • Explore import substitution and new sourcing geographies where beneficial.

  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to guide new product development or capacity expansion decisions.
  • Work closely with Finance on pricing, receivables, and profitability analysis.
  • Implement structured commercial processes (KAM framework, vendor rating system, etc.).
  • Build and lead a small team over time (Sales Executive / Purchase Executive).

Must-Have

  • Proven track record in B2B sales + Key Account Management in chemical/pharma intermediate industry.
  • Hands-on experience in strategic procurement (not just transactional buying).
  • Strong negotiation skills (both customer and supplier side).
  • Good technical understanding of chemical products/specifications/applications (or quick learner).
  • Experience with CRM tools and basic ERP (SAP SD/MM exposure preferred).
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits and plant coordination.

Good-to-Have

  • Exposure to export sales (documentation, LC, shipping, certifications like REACH/FDA support).
  • Experience in pharma intermediates or regulated markets.
  • Previous P&L or margin improvement responsibility.
  • MBA + Science/Engineering background.
  • Existing network in pharma/dye/formulation companies.
