Finance / Accounting Manager

Job Description

This role blends core accounting, financial analysis, and team leadership, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making across multiple active development projects. The ideal candidate is hands-on, forward-thinking, and comfortable leading in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of up to 4 associates, providing guidance, training, and performance support
• Oversee month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Review team output to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company standards
• Analyze project costs, land development expenditures, and construction budgets
• Partner with operations teams to track and evaluate project performance and variances
• Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling initiatives
• Prepare management reports and provide actionable insights to senior leadership
• Identify process improvements and help scale accounting and reporting functions as the company continues to grow
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 4-8 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis
• Heavy forecasting and reporting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
• Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Prior experience leading or mentoring others (formal or informal) strongly preferred
• Experience in construction, homebuilding, real estate, or land development is a plus
