Engineering Manager

Job Description

our new role

• Lead and manage the engineering function across the defence portfolio
• Drive delivery of technical solutions across safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives
• Oversee engineering execution, including budget control, planning and resource allocation
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and governance frameworks
• Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned to business objectives
• Work closely with production and operational teams to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable solutions
• Champion continuous improvement, innovation and engineering best practice

What you’ll need to succeed

• Degree-qualified engineer with relevant professional registration (or equivalent) – Mechanical Engineering Preferred
• Proven experience in a technical leadership role within defence, maritime or similarly regulated industries
• Strong background in engineering design, systems integration or complex product development
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
• Experience managing technical risk, budgets and long-term engineering strategies
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
