Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Be the face, on video first. Host shorts, long-form videos, and webinars that developers actually watch.
  • Build real demos. Use our API and the tools you review. Show it working, end to end.
  • Get us into the conversation. Land SearchApi in comparisons, best-of lists, and the threads developers actually read, on merit.
  • Show up where developers are. Talks, podcasts, livestreams, the occasional conference. Run our social and community at a technical level.
  • Close the loop. Bring developer feedback, friction, and feature requests back to the product team. You’re our ears, not just our mouth.
  • Write when it helps. Launch posts, integration guides, and example apps that make the API click.

You own how developers experience SearchApi. You decide the formats, the cadence, and the topics that land.

🔥 The Hard Parts

This role is not for everyone. Here’s what makes it hard:

  • On camera AND technical. Most people are one or the other. You need both.
  • Cadence is the job. One great video isn’t a presence. Consistency is.
  • You build what you show. No hand-waving. The demo has to work live.
  • You iterate in public. The numbers are public and unforgiving, and you learn from them openly.
  • You’re the face. When you vouch for something, your name and ours are on it. That’s the deal.

If you want to read someone else’s script off a teleprompter, this isn’t for you.

✨ About You

  • Genuinely technical. You can build the demo you’re showing.
  • Compelling on camera. Clear, engaging, and natural on video and in front of a room.
  • Native or C2 English. Delivery and nuance matter.
  • Professional setup. Audio and video that look and sound the part.
  • Consistent and self-directed. You ship on a schedule without being chased.
  • You actually like developers. Answering questions and building a following energizes you rather than drains you.

Required experience:

  • Links to on-camera technical content you made yourself.

We’re especially looking for:

  • An existing audience or following.
  • Conference talks, podcasts, or livestreams.
  • Community building (Discord, forums, open source).
  • Developer-tool or API content, and strong editing skills.
