Job Description
**Job Description**
**At BD, possibility isn’t an idea. It’s what we do. We are the Makers of Possible.**
As a **Design Draftsperson** , you’ll play a key role in helping pharmacy owners bring their future space to life – creating layouts that clearly showcase how BD Rowa automation will sit and function within their environment.
This is a **2‑year fixed‑term contract** , where you’ll work across projects in ANZ, designing dispensary and retail layouts while engaging directly with customers to walk through concepts, refine designs and bring ideas to a final outcome.
You won’t be working behind the scenes – you’ll be part of the customer journey, helping translate plans into something tangible that supports confident investment decisions.
Your Day‑to‑Day
You’ll combine design work with customer interaction and project collaboration.
You will:
+ Design pharmacy layouts and workflows incorporating BD Rowa solutions
+ Create concept sketches and final installation drawings for implementation
+ Work directly with customers to explain designs, present options and refine layouts
+ Adapt designs based on feedback, requirements and workflow considerations
+ Develop design briefs based on customer needs and project objectives
+ Support the Project and Sales teams by visualising solutions during later sales stages
+ Design workflow concepts that optimise **space, efficiency and usability**
+ Maintain and update design documentation and project records
+ Identify opportunities to **improve design output** , including 3D or enhanced visualisation
+ Stay informed on retail and pharmacy design trends
While pharmacy layouts can follow familiar structures, there is opportunity to **elevate how designs are presented and experienced by customers** .
bout You
You’re confident, personable and enjoy working directly with customers just as much as you enjoy the design process.
You’ll bring:
+ Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software
+ Background in retail, store layout or interior design (highly regarded)
+ Strong communication skills and confidence presenting designs to customers
+ Ability to take feedback and adapt designs in real time
+ A proactive, solution‑focused approach
+ Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
+ Interest in improving design quality, including 3D or enhanced visualisation
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
+ Experience designing pharmacy layouts is advantageous, but not essential.
