About the role

The Data Analyst (Procurement and Property) has responsibility to provide high quality business analysis, guidance and reporting to the Procurement & Property function and associated stakeholders across AGL.

The role works predominantly with finance (Accounts Payable, Invoice,
Purchasing and Credit Card) and property data to develop high quality and accurate analysis that can be used by the team for planning & reporting.

What You’ll Be Doing
 

  • Perform analysis and provide meaningful insights into performance metrics and KPIs, contributing to the achievement of Procurement & Property goals.
  • Business partner to develop high quality decision support and reporting solutions to enable operational efficiencies and valued business outcomes.
  • Assist in the preparation of Procurement & Property reports.
  • Ensure governance is achieved by reporting and monitoring adherence to Procurement & Property policies and standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to wider Procurement & Property teams as well as the business with regards to data, analytics and reporting.
  • Develop reporting for functional KPIs and improvement targets to ensure Systems are performing as required.
  • Identify and provide adhoc report requirements to divisional leaders and stakeholders.
  • Navigate systems effectively to extract and manage source data.
  • Contribute to implementing data governance and standardisation across the team’s reports, dataflows and data assets, including documentation, ownership and lifecycle controls.
  • Support the uplift of the team’s data environment, including piloting and migrating dataflows and pipelines into modern platforms (e.g. Microsoft Fabric / Azure) in partnership with enterprise data teams.
  • Identify and support AI and automation opportunities that build efficiencies within the team.
  • Develop and maintain reports utilising data visualisation tools (Power BI).
  • Promote self-service functionality and providing feedback to enhancement of system tools.
  • Contribute to the team’s AI and automation initiatives, including scoping AI opportunities and building AI agents to reduce manual effort and speed up turnaround.
  • Apply automation and emerging AI capabilities (e.g. Power Automate, Power Apps) to streamline repetitive processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ownership of tools, dashboards, and techniques to improve performance management.
  • Business partner with key stakeholders and teams across the Procurement value chain and Procurement & Property team to build out meaningful insights based on metrics reported.
  • Benchmark industry metrics and contribute to knowledge sharing and educating peers and management.
  • Train staff on dashboards and reporting tools.

What You’ll Bring
 

  • Tertiary qualifications associated with Finance/Financial Systems, Procurement, Business, Commerce or Data Analytics is preferred.
  • 2-4 years in an analyst role, preferably with experience in providing analytical support for Procurement and Property modeling and insights
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI expertise.
  • Strong data fundamentals are essential with a solid understanding of commercial analysis, data modelling and data transformation techniques.
  • Strong data interpretation and presentation skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Procurement experience & SAP understanding desirable.
  • Cloud services such as Azure and Microsoft Fabric experience desirable.
  • AI skills and/or automation development skills desirable.
