Job Description

The role

As a Cyber Security Officer, you will help protect the department’s information systems and technology assets by supporting key cyber security capabilities across active monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and assurance of security controls.

You will be part of a dedicated cyber security team responsible for strengthening the department’s cyber resilience and supporting alignment and compliance with WA Government cyber security requirements.

We are recruiting for two (2) positions:

1. Cyber Security Officer with a primary focus on endpoint and server security compliance, including malware protection, vulnerability management and incident response activities with a strong focus on TrendAI Vision One and the Microsoft Security ecosystem including Microsoft Defender.
2. Cyber Security Officer specialising in application control, with a strong focus on application allowlisting and administration using Airlock Digital across endpoints and servers, and also actively contributing to broader operational cyber compliance and protection activities.

While each position has a distinct and important area of focus, both roles work collaboratively across the department’s cyber security program, providing opportunities to work with modern security technologies and contribute to meaningful cyber resilience and security uplift outcomes across LGIRS and its bureau services.
