Cyber Security Coordinator

Job Description

Your new roleAs a Cyber Security Coordinator, you will support the governance and operational oversight of cyber security activities across the department’s technology environment. This role sits at the intersection of cyber operations, service management and change governance, ensuring that security considerations are consistently applied across both production and non production environments.

You will play a key role in reviewing and coordinating change requests from a cyber security perspective, assessing both technical and non technical impacts, and supporting the management of service delivery through tools such as ServiceNow. The position also involves contributing to managed vendor performance reviews and supporting the resolution of operational issues, working closely with internal cyber teams, IT support functions and external providers.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who understands cyber operations but prefers a coordination, assurance and stakeholder focused role rather than hands on incident response.

What you’ll need to succeedTo be successful, you will have experience in a cyber security, ICT security or service management environment, ideally within government or a highly regulated organisation. You will be confident reviewing changes and assessing risk, and comfortable engaging with both technical and non technical stakeholders.You will also bring:

• Experience reviewing and coordinating change requests, with an understanding of cyber security impacts
• Exposure to ITIL aligned processes including change, incident and problem management
• Experience working with ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow
• Ability to assess technical and non technical changes across infrastructure or applications
• Understanding of cyber security principles across networks, access, and infrastructure environments
• Experience supporting vendor or managed service performance reviews is highly regarded
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage across multiple stakeholder groups
