Cloud Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

– Architect and implement secure, cost-effective cloud environments on GCP to support mission-critical applications and improve overall system availability.

– Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to reduce manual overhead and ensure environment consistency.

– Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, accelerating the software delivery lifecycle and improving deployment frequency.

– Optimize cloud resource utilization and performance by monitoring system metrics and implementing proactive scaling strategies to manage operational costs.

– Lead the migration of legacy workloads to cloud-native architectures, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity for end-users.

– Establish and enforce security best practices and compliance standards across the cloud environment to protect sensitive data and mitigate operational risks.

Required Skillset :

– Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing complex GCP architectures, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery, with a focus on high-availability patterns.

– Proven ability to script and automate infrastructure tasks using Terraform or similar IaC frameworks, ensuring repeatable and scalable deployments.

– Strong proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes, to support microservices-based application development.

– Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders and mentor junior engineers in best practices.

– Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and a proactive mindset, with the ability to thrive in a remote-first environment while maintaining high standards of collaboration.

– A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by 8 – 12 years of professional experience in cloud engineering or systems architecture.

– Demonstrated adaptability in managing competing priorities and navigating the technical challenges of a fast-paced, distributed organizational structure.
