Job Description

The Role

Checkout.com is looking for an enthusiastic Engineer I to join our IT Operations team. This is an early-career role for someone ready to operate independently with guidance — owning local workflows and support queues rather than only handling basic troubleshooting. Based in our Tallinn office (~60 people), you’ll be the primary technical point of contact on-site, keeping our cloud-based and hardware systems reliable, secure, and scalable, and partnering with global stakeholders to improve the everyday employee experience.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Act as the primary, visible interface between Corporate Technology and the local Tallinn hub (~60 people), delivering both reactive and proactive support
  • Independently triage, diagnose, and resolve workplace IT issues within SLA, and escalate when issues exceed defined complexity thresholds
  • Partner with local team members to maintain office technology including desk setups, conference rooms, WiFi, and digital signage
  • Own the day-to-day reliability of Tallinn’s conference rooms, AV, and event tech, and provide hands-on support during company events
  • Manage local procurement receipt, zero-touch device provisioning (Jamf/Intune), and audited deployment records for macOS and Windows fleets
  • Manage local IT stock levels, hardware storage, deliveries, returns, warranty repairs, and shipment coordination, escalating supply risks before they impact onboarding or user support
  • Onboard new joiners by provisioning secure hardware/SaaS access and hosting IT inductions. Triage standard Okta access profiles and permissions during Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) workflows
  • Follow IT security, data protection, and access control processes consistently, ensuring devices, accounts, and local workflows meet company compliance and audit expectations
  • Provide clear, timely updates during local incidents or service disruptions, keeping users, stakeholders, and global IT teams informed until resolution
  • Coordinate with local office stakeholders, vendors, and global IT teams to resolve office technology issues and support planned workplace changes
  • Author clear knowledge base entries and local runbooks, incorporating peer feedback to keep them useful and current

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience supporting both macOS and Windows devices in a fast-paced corporate environment, with a track record of acting with urgency and ownership.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix laptop hardware, upgrade components, and support peripheral/accessories.
  • Hands-on capability to support and troubleshoot a wide range of market-leading SaaS applications and tools such as Google Workspace, Okta, Jamf, Intune, Slack, and Atlassian.
  • Hands-on familiarity with unified communication spaces, peripheral devices (Poly, Logi, Zoom/Meet rooms), and office event tech.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a strong customer service mindset, a positive can-do attitude, and a willingness to learn and develop. Capable of researching independently to find solutions to various application issues.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, infrastructure fundamentals (WiFi, basic routing), and cloud environments is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English, with the ability to coordinate seamlessly with local stakeholders and global technology teams.
