Job Description

As a User Experience Front-End Developer, you will play a vital role in designing and building accessible, high-performance web applications that improve usability and engagement. Working within an agile environment, you will support the implementation of Design Systems across Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that support better health outcomes while advancing your expertise with cutting-edge front-end technologies

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a front-end developer within the Australian Government or similar large-scale organisation.
  • Proven expertise in JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and SCSS, demonstrating excellent code quality, reusability, and performance optimization.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining shared front-end components and supporting design systems at scale.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (latest WCAG), usability principles, and responsive web design to deliver inclusive solutions.
  • Proven ability to translate UX/UI prototypes into functional, user-centered applications through close collaboration with designers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working effectively in Agile environments, with the ability to address complex problems independently and communicate technical advice clearly to stakeholders.
  • Excellent team collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps front-end development.
  • Familiarity with Figma or equivalent design tools.
  • Knowledge of backend templating languages such as Liquid, PHP, or TWIG.
  • Relevant formal qualifications in IT, computer science, business, or related fields.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience delivering accessible and user-friendly web applications in government or similarly complex environments, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
