Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer (Power BI & Azure)

Job Description

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

• Designing and maintaining Azure Data Factory (ADF) / Fabric / Synapse data pipelines
• Developing and optimising Power BI semantic models and DAX measures
• Performing ETL/ELT transformations across structured and unstructured data
• Supporting executive-level dashboards and reporting frameworks
• Ensuring data quality, validation, and governance controls
• Working closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Providing hands-on support within an existing cloud data platform

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, or Synapse
• Advanced Power BI development (DAX, semantic modelling, performance optimisation)
• Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
• Practical data modelling experience (Star/Snowflake or Data Vault)
• Experience working within Commonwealth or State Government environments
• NV1 clearance preferred (Baseline minimum)

Desirable

• Experience in secure or compliance-heavy environments
• Exposure to Azure DevOps / CI-CD practices
• Experience supporting health or regulatory data environments
