Job Description
Skills : WordPress CMS, WooCommerce, PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.
Key Responsibilities :– Design, develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.
– Build scalable solutions using PHP, WordPress core APIs, hooks, filters, custom post types, and taxonomies.
– Develop and maintain custom Gutenberg / Block Editor blocks and modern content-editing experiences.
– Integrate WordPress with third-party systems such as REST APIs, CRMs, payment gateways, marketing tools, and analytics platforms.
– Optimize websites for performance, SEO readiness, accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and Core Web Vitals.
– Implement WordPress security best practices, patching, permissions management, and site
hardening.
– Troubleshoot complex production issues, plugin conflicts, deployment problems, and performance bottlenecks.
– Collaborate with UI/UX, QA, product, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into
technical solutions.
– Review code, define standards, mentor developers, and support technical delivery across
projects.
– Contribute to estimation, architecture decisions, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications :– Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
– 5+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, including senior-level ownership of web projects.
– Strong proficiency in PHP, WordPress, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
– Proven experience in custom theme and custom plugin development.
– Hands-on experience with Gutenberg / Block Editor and modern WordPress architecture.
– Strong knowledge of WordPress REST API and third-party integration patterns.
– Experience with ACF, custom post types, taxonomies, shortcodes, hooks, filters, and template hierarchy.
– Experience with Git-based workflows, staging environments, and structured deployment processes.
– Strong understanding of performance optimization, caching, image optimization, and troubleshooting.
– Strong understanding of WordPress security best practices and secure coding standards.
– Ability to perform code reviews and mentor junior or mid-level developers.
Preferred Qualifications :
– Experience with headless WordPress architectures using REST API or similar approaches.
– Familiarity with theme.json, modern block styling, and structured component-based
development.
– Exposure to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release governance.
– Knowledge of hosting, backups, monitoring, and recovery practices for WordPress
environments.
– Open-source contribution or WordPress community involvement is a plus.
Senior-Level Expectations :– Own end-to-end technical delivery for complex WordPress initiatives.
– Recommend architecture decisions for scalability, maintainability, and security.
– Lead troubleshooting of high-impact issues and production incidents.
– Improve development standards, documentation, and engineering workflows.
– Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and review support across the team.
