Website Designer & Developer

Job Description

The Role

You’ll be responsible for building, improving and maintaining websites for a range of local and regional businesses, working alongside our strategy, design and content teams.

This role requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of projects and bring technical expertise to the table, while still collaborating closely with the team.

You’ll be working across multiple client brands and platforms, helping deliver websites that not only look great, but perform well, convert effectively and support long-term business growth.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Building and refining websites across Shopify, WordPress, Wix and Squarespace
• Scoping projects and estimating build timeframes
• Identifying technical risks or limitations early in the process
• Implementing third-party integrations and custom functionality
• Maintaining and improving existing client websites
• Troubleshooting issues and implementing technical fixes
• Ensuring websites meet performance, security and compliance standards

Because we’re a strategy-led agency, you’ll often contribute technical insight earlier in the process — helping shape how a website is structured and built to support the client’s goals.
Technical Expertise

You’ll have demonstrated experience working with:

Platforms & Code

• Ideally well versed across Shopify, WordPress, Showit, Wix & Squarespace
• HTML and CSS

Ecommerce & Integrations

• Payment gateways (Stripe, Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay etc.)
• Australian GST and tax configuration
• Shipping logic and carrier integrations
• POS system integration and inventory syncing
• CRM, automation and AI-enabled integrations

Performance & Compliance

• Website security best practices
• Performance and speed optimisation
• SEO and AI search readiness (AIO)
• Privacy and legal compliance requirements
• Conversion-focused website architecture
