Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Webmaster to take ownership of our organization’s digital front door. This role is responsible not just for maintaining uptime and performance, but for ensuring our website ecosystem evolves in line with brand, compliance, user experience, and security expectations. You’ll manage a portfolio of internal and external sites that support everything from marketing campaigns to operational portals, coordinating closely with developers, designers, content creators, and compliance teams.

This is not a “set it and forget it” role — we’re looking for someone who proactively identifies UX issues, monitors performance anomalies, implements structured updates, and ensures that what’s live reflects our most current objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the website infrastructure — including DNS, CMS, CDN, analytics, accessibility compliance, and site search configuration.
  • Manage and optimize staging/production environments, with strong deployment hygiene and rollback strategies.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to site performance, page load speed, broken links, redirects, and server errors.
  • Oversee content publishing workflows and permissions across multiple teams, ensuring editorial accuracy and technical consistency.
  • Implement and audit SEO fundamentals (canonical tags, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, structured data, etc.) in partnership with marketing.
  • Maintain GDPR/CCPA compliance across forms, cookies, and embedded services; coordinate privacy and accessibility audits.
  • Administer CMS roles and training for non-technical users, supporting internal adoption of publishing best practices.
  • Work with developers on custom module/plugin creation, bug fixing, and scheduled CMS upgrades (WordPress, Drupal, etc.).
  • Create reports using analytics platforms (GA4, Hotjar, Clarity, etc.) to identify engagement drop-offs and conversion bottlenecks.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 4+ years managing complex websites with high uptime, active user engagement, and multi-departmental content needs.
  • Strong experience with modern CMS platforms (preferably WordPress and/or Drupal), including theme and plugin architecture.
  • Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript, and how these interact within templating engines.
  • Experience with site performance tools (Google Lighthouse, WebPageTest), analytics (GA4), and tag management (GTM).
  • Familiarity with security best practices, SSL certs, firewalls, and bot filtering (e.g., Cloudflare).
  • Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and web compliance (GDPR, CCPA, cookie banners).
  • Comfortable working in Git-based workflows and coordinating with development and design teams in an Agile environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience migrating legacy sites or replatforming under tight timelines.
  • Background in marketing operations or UX design is a plus.
  • Familiarity with headless CMS or decoupled frontends is a strong advantage.
  • Certifications related to web accessibility, SEO, or cloud services (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner) are a bonus.
