Job Description

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-obsessed Webmaster to take ownership of our digital presence. This isn’t a “set-it-and-forget-it” role — we need someone who lives in the backend, understands frontend behavior, and thrives on optimizing user journeys. You’ll be responsible for managing the performance, security, accessibility, and SEO of our core web properties. This includes coordinating content updates across teams, handling third-party integrations, and ensuring the website aligns with both brand and business goals.

Your day might include debugging a third-party script issue, analyzing site traffic drop-offs, implementing accessibility fixes, or creating a deployment checklist for a new landing page. You’ll also act as the bridge between marketing, design, IT, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, update, and troubleshoot the company’s primary website (WordPress + custom PHP theme), ensuring uptime, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with content teams to schedule and publish updates — including copy, images, videos, and forms — using version control and staging best practices.
  • Work closely with design to implement pixel-perfect UI updates; familiarity with design handoff tools like Figma required.
  • Monitor technical SEO health (crawl errors, broken links, structured data, redirects, sitemaps) and implement fixes directly or through dev partners.
  • Manage and document all third-party integrations (CRM, analytics, chatbots, lead capture, event platforms).
  • Ensure full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance and conduct quarterly accessibility audits.
  • Analyze web traffic and user behavior using Google Analytics 4 and Hotjar or similar tools to inform CRO and UX changes.
  • Coordinate CMS updates, plugin audits, and server maintenance with internal IT and hosting partners.
  • Create and enforce governance around CMS user roles, publishing workflows, and asset management.
  • Track all changes and deployments with Git and document configurations in an internal wiki.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience managing mid-to-large WordPress websites (custom themes, not just builders).
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, basic JavaScript, and PHP within the WordPress ecosystem.
  • Experience managing staging-to-live deployments, DNS records, and CDN configurations.
  • Familiarity with accessibility compliance standards (WCAG) and tools like Axe or WAVE.
  • Comfort using browser developer tools, GTmetrix/PageSpeed Insights, and Google Search Console.
  • Working knowledge of Git workflows and CLI commands for site maintenance.
  • Clear understanding of how websites integrate with CRMs (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and marketing automation tools.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with content, design, and IT stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience with multilingual or multisite WordPress installations.
  • Familiarity with Webflow or other headless CMS options.
  • Google Analytics certification or equivalent experience analyzing behavioral data.
  • Experience in enterprise environments with layered approval and publishing workflows.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in a B2B SaaS or non-profit organization with complex stakeholder structures.
  • Working knowledge of DNS management, SSL certificates, and CDN providers like Cloudflare.
  • Understanding of privacy compliance (GDPR/CCPA) and experience implementing cookie consent tools.
