Job Description

About the Role

We’re seeking a Web Engineer with deep experience building performant, scalable, and secure web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and SSR strategies. This role requires fluency in managing frontend and edge-rendered experiences, alongside backend APIs that support dynamic data and real-time user interactions.

You’ll be expected to take ownership of entire feature sets—from planning and architecture through deployment and monitoring—and collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and develop SSR/SPA web applications using Next.js, TypeScript, and React 18+
  • Optimize application performance with profiling tools, CDN strategy, lazy-loading, and fine-grained bundle analysis
  • Implement and manage scalable API layers using Node.js, tRPC, and Edge Functions (e.g., Vercel Edge, Cloudflare Workers)
  • Integrate and manage secure authentication/authorization flows (OAuth2, SSO, token refresh patterns)
  • Handle routing strategies, static asset optimization, and responsive UI considerations across major browsers and devices
  • Collaborate in code reviews, CI/CD workflows, and staging/production rollout strategies (using GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Maintain a component-driven development approach using Storybook, TailwindCSS, and Radix UI

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in web engineering, specifically with Next.js or a similar meta-framework (e.g., Nuxt, SvelteKit)
  • Strong command of TypeScript and its type system, especially in shared API-client schemas and domain logic
  • Hands-on experience with Vercel, Netlify, or similar JAMStack platforms, including edge middleware configuration
  • Proficient with Web Vitals, Lighthouse auditing, and real-user monitoring for performance regressions
  • Demonstrable experience with automated browser testing using Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools
  • Familiar with content platform integrations (e.g., headless CMS like Sanity, Contentful, or custom Markdown pipelines)
  • Clear understanding of modern security practices (CSP, XSS mitigation, token storage patterns, etc.)

Nice to Have

  • Prior contributions to open-source projects or internal design systems
  • Experience with internationalization (i18n) and localization workflows
  • Familiarity with GraphQL federation or hybrid REST/GraphQL backends
  • Working knowledge of WebAssembly (Wasm) or Web Workers in production use
