Job Description

We’re looking for a Web Engineer who thrives in shipping production-ready, user-facing features at scale—not just writing clean code but shaping the front-end experience in collaboration with product and design. You’ll work closely with a small but focused team to build performant interfaces and dynamic functionality for tools used by thousands of customers in real-time. This isn’t a purely front-end role—we want someone who understands how their code connects to APIs, performance bottlenecks, and architectural trade-offs.

You’ll contribute to our core platform with modern tooling, thoughtful implementation, and a strong sense of ownership. If you’ve ever refactored a component hierarchy because it “just didn’t feel right,” you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate complex user needs into functional, scalable, and maintainable web interfaces using React (or similar frameworks).
  • Work with designers to transform Figma mockups into polished, production-ready code with pixel-level precision—handling interactions, transitions, and states.
  • Manage component performance with attention to lazy loading, bundle size, and client-side caching strategies.
  • Collaborate with back-end engineers to define clean, RESTful (or GraphQL) API contracts.
  • Maintain and grow a component system that balances flexibility with consistency across products.
  • Identify and address accessibility issues early—prioritizing semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, and ARIA standards.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and post-mortems, contributing more than just code.
  • Proactively flag architectural issues and lead efforts to refactor problem areas.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of professional experience building web applications using a modern JavaScript framework (React preferred, but Vue or Svelte experience is also welcome).
  • Deep understanding of the browser rendering pipeline, DOM diffing, and client-side performance.
  • Solid grasp of TypeScript and a commitment to static typing and thoughtful interfaces.
  • Experience working with API data, handling error states, loading behavior, and optimistic updates.
  • Comfort working in git-based workflows (PRs, rebasing, code reviews).
  • Strong attention to detail—you’ve been known to adjust line-height or tweak z-index without being asked.
  • Familiarity with build tools and bundlers (Vite, Webpack, esbuild).
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and experience building inclusive interfaces.

Bonus Points:

  • Prior experience in component library development or design systems.
  • Experience integrating with content management systems (e.g., Sanity, Contentful).
  • Familiarity with server-side rendering (Next.js or similar frameworks).
  • Contributions to open-source projects, technical blogs, or portfolio examples of your UI work.
