Job Description
We’re looking for a Web Engineer who can build fast, reliable, and elegant web experiences that support high user engagement and scale with product growth. This isn’t a pixel-perfect frontend role—we need someone who understands browser performance, knows how to push the limits of modern web APIs, and can collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ship features that balance UX with technical constraints.
You’ll work on projects like:
- Designing a performant component system with SSR and hydration strategies
- Integrating real-time updates via WebSockets or Server-Sent Events
- Improving Core Web Vitals scores across dynamic pages
- Building dashboards that visualize large datasets with responsiveness and clarity
- Supporting A/B tests that require runtime logic without full redeploys
We’re a small, fast-moving team. If you’ve ever worked at the intersection of product complexity and frontend architecture—and liked it—you’ll probably like it here.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain core user-facing features using React (or comparable frameworks), TypeScript, and CSS-in-JS methodologies
- Collaborate with design on component-level systems that support rapid iteration while ensuring consistency
- Profile and optimize performance across the frontend stack: TTFB, hydration, bundle size, and interaction latency
- Implement API contracts and work closely with backend engineers on streaming, pagination, and caching strategies
- Set up experiments and observability tools (e.g., feature flags, logging, metrics, synthetic monitoring)
- Contribute to internal tooling to speed up dev workflows (e.g., storybook, CLI scripts, linters)
- Stay current on browser capabilities and frontend frameworks to inform architectural decisions
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- 3+ years of experience building and deploying production-grade web apps
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React (or similar reactive frameworks)
- Clear understanding of rendering pipelines—SSR, CSR, hydration, progressive enhancement
- Experience with at least one modern build system (e.g., Vite, Webpack, Turbopack)
- Demonstrated ability to optimize performance, from lazy loading and prefetching to virtual scrolling
- Comfortable debugging across layers: devtools, network tab, Lighthouse, and server logs
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices and semantic HTML
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience working with WebSockets, streaming APIs, or server components
- Familiarity with animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP) and interaction design patterns
- Exposure to edge rendering and CDN behavior (e.g., Cloudflare Workers, Vercel Functions)
- Contributions to open source frontend tools or component libraries
- Experience with analytics, instrumentation, or building internal developer tools
