Web Developer (Shopify)

About the Role

We’re looking for a part-time (with potential to extend to full-time) Web Developer who can help us build and maintain a high-performing Shopify experience, including our custom ring builder.

In this role, you will work closely with our Digital Lead to deliver new features, improve site performance, and ensure the experience is reliable and easy to use. You’ll work across theme development, integrations, and UI improvements, with a focus on clean, scalable code.

Key Responsibilities
Shopify Development

• Build and maintain Liquid templates, sections, and custom components
• Implement Figma designs with clean, responsive, mobile-first code
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and accessibility standards
• Improve performance across desktop and mobile
• Write maintainable, scalable code that supports future releases
• Manage staging environments and safe deployments

Ring Builder & New Features

• Extend and maintain TMC’s custom ring builder
• Build new product features and UI improvements across the site
• Implement navigation, filtering, and stateful UI
• Support internal tooling that connects to the customer journey
• Work with design and marketing to bring new ideas to life online

Integrations & APIs

• Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and Shopify apps
• Work with REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication, and data mapping
• Set up webhook automation that supports custom workflows
• Improve integration performance and reliability
• Monitor data flows and address issues proactively

Skills & Experience

• Experience with Shopify front-end development (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Strong understanding of theme structure and front-end fundamentals
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and webhooks
• Familiarity with Git, version control, and structured releases
• Awareness of SEO best-practice and accessibility standards
• Experience with technical documentation & reporting
