About the role
This is a full-time, ongoing hybrid role (primarily remote with occasional Camberwell attendance).
Reporting to the Lead Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to the end-to-end design and development of websites—from concepts and layouts through to front-end build, CMS implementation and ongoing enhancement.
This role suits an early-career developer interested in both design and front-end development.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build responsive, accessible websites
- Translate designs into front-end implementations
- Develop and maintain CMS-driven sites
- Support testing and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with stakeholders across ACER
About you
You’re a creative, detail-oriented web developer who values usability, accessibility and clean design, and enjoys learning and improving your skills.
Skills and experience
- Experience designing and building websites
- HTML, CSS and responsive development skills
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
- Exposure to JavaScript (React/Next.js desirable)
- Experience with Webflow and CMS platforms (e.g. Expression Engine, Craft CMS, WordPress)
- Understanding of UX, accessibility and SEO
- Experience with Git and modern tools
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
