Job Description
We’re seeking a Web Content Manager who can move beyond static pages and SEO checklists. You will own the lifecycle of web content across our primary site and microsites, ensuring consistency in tone, accessibility, performance, and strategy. You’ll work with subject matter experts, designers, developers, and the analytics team to turn sprawling content requests into structured, audience-focused experiences. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where the homepage might need a messaging pivot at 9 a.m. and a campaign landing page needs to go live by 4 p.m.—and both must reflect our brand voice.
This role requires someone with a sharp editorial eye, strong UX instincts, and the ability to push back constructively when stakeholders want to publish everything everywhere all at once.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit, organize, and maintain content across our web properties; prioritize high-impact updates and retire obsolete pages.
- Develop and own editorial calendars in coordination with marketing, program, and product teams.
- Create and edit web content, ensuring alignment with brand voice, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA), and user experience best practices.
- Collaborate with design and engineering to implement templates, modules, and CMS workflows that streamline content publishing.
- Partner with SEO and analytics leads to measure content performance and recommend improvements based on user behavior and conversion data.
- Act as CMS lead (Drupal experience strongly preferred): train internal teams, troubleshoot publishing issues, and manage permissions.
- Lead quarterly content performance reviews for priority pages and sections.
- Ensure all content adheres to legal and compliance standards before publication.
- Contribute to governance documentation and content style guides.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years managing and producing web content, preferably for mission-driven or complex organizations.
- Deep experience with content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, or comparable enterprise-level tools).
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for clarity, hierarchy, and tone.
- Demonstrated success using analytics to inform content decisions.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and the ability to communicate effectively with developers.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive content practices.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional content workflows and balancing competing priorities.
