Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a Web Content Editor with a sharp editorial eye, a strong grasp of UX-driven web writing, and the ability to maintain consistent tone and formatting across large content ecosystems. This role will oversee web content quality, alignment with SEO strategy, adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2), and cross-functional publishing workflows. Ideal candidates bring editorial precision, cross-departmental communication skills, and hands-on experience with component-based content management systems (CMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Review, edit, and publish web content across key digital platforms (Drupal and/or Adobe Experience Manager preferred).
- Ensure consistency in voice, tone, formatting, metadata, and structure across all content types (landing pages, help guides, product pages, etc.).
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and developers to maintain a cohesive user experience and ensure content supports user journeys.
- Audit and optimize web pages for SEO (on-page elements, schema, internal linking) and accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA compliance).
- Manage and refine editorial workflows using project management tools (Asana, Jira, or similar).
- Rewrite or repackage content to meet readability targets (Flesch Reading Ease ≥ 60) and brand guidelines.
- Tag, organize, and maintain accurate taxonomy and content hierarchy within the CMS.
- Partner with legal and compliance teams for timely content reviews and risk mitigation.
- Propose and document scalable content models for new templates or recurring content types.
- Monitor page performance and implement iterative updates using tools such as Google Analytics 4, Hotjar, or Microsoft Clarity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Digital Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience editing web content in a corporate or enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated expertise working within modular CMS environments (e.g., AEM, Drupal, Sitecore).
- Proven knowledge of HTML/CSS for content troubleshooting—not coding from scratch, but enough to adjust formatting, resolve layout issues, or insert alt text and markup.
- Strong grasp of SEO, including use of SEMrush, Yoast, or similar optimization tools.
- Experience performing accessibility reviews using tools like Axe, WAVE, or Siteimprove.
- Familiarity with structured content models (e.g., headless CMS or DITA concepts) is a plus.
- Impeccable grammar and editing skills; AP Stylebook fluency preferred.
- Ability to write and edit with clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences.
