Summary

We are looking for a Web Administrator who thrives on managing robust, secure, and high-performance web environments. This role demands technical expertise beyond basic site upkeep — you will oversee the full lifecycle of website infrastructure, security, and performance tuning in a multi-server ecosystem. Your proactive approach and automation skills will keep our web presence resilient and optimized, while your ability to communicate technical details ensures smooth collaboration across teams.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience managing complex websites with a focus on stability, scalability, and security in a multi-server environment.
  • Deep understanding of server infrastructure related to web hosting (Linux-based systems preferred) including Apache, NGINX, and load balancing configurations.
  • Skilled in monitoring and troubleshooting website uptime, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities using tools like New Relic, Datadog, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on proficiency with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, or custom-built systems) including deployment automation and plugin/module management with an eye toward minimizing technical debt.
  • Strong command of web protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, DNS) and ability to configure and maintain secure SSL certificates and DNS zones without relying on third-party services.
  • Experience with database management for web apps, specifically tuning MySQL/PostgreSQL performance, managing backups, and performing schema migrations with zero downtime.
  • Ability to script and automate routine web administration tasks using shell scripts, Python, or PowerShell to streamline workflows and incident responses.
  • Familiarity with CDN setup and management (Cloudflare, Akamai, etc.) to optimize global content delivery and mitigate DDoS attacks.
  • Expertise in analyzing web server logs and security audit trails to detect anomalies or intrusion attempts proactively.
  • Proven track record implementing web accessibility standards and optimizing for SEO best practices in collaboration with content teams.
  • Experience coordinating with developers to facilitate continuous integration and deployment pipelines, ensuring seamless web updates with minimal disruption.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical web infrastructure issues and plans clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for staying updated on emerging web technologies, security threats, and compliance requirements relevant to web hosting and administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of dedicated web administration experience managing live, high-traffic websites.
  • Certifications such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), CompTIA Security+, or Certified Web Professional are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex web infrastructure problems under pressure and propose sustainable solutions.
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality.
  • Self-motivated learner comfortable researching and quickly adopting new tools and best practices independently.
