Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-obsessed Web Administrator to take ownership of our web environment across multiple internal and external platforms. This role isn’t just about keeping the site up—it’s about maintaining site integrity, applying security patches ahead of threats, troubleshooting across CMS and server layers, and collaborating with our dev, content, and marketing teams to keep performance high and error rates low.

If you’ve ever diagnosed a failing module in the middle of a marketing campaign launch or deployed a staging rollback without breaking a sweat, we’re interested.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain & Monitor: Oversee daily operation and uptime of company websites (WordPress and custom-built), including monitoring logs, performance metrics, and system alerts.
  • Deploy & Update: Manage CMS plugin/theme updates, core upgrades, and third-party integrations. Coordinate deployments with dev teams to avoid production bottlenecks.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply proactive security measures—monitor suspicious activity, implement firewall rules, manage SSL certs, and ensure GDPR & accessibility compliance.
  • Backup & Recovery: Maintain automated backup schedules and conduct quarterly recovery tests across environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Debug site outages, DNS issues, database connectivity problems, and server config anomalies. Document root causes and follow through on permanent fixes.
  • Optimize: Identify slow-loading elements, broken links, or inefficient server configurations and provide solutions to improve load speed and SEO compliance.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Liaise with content editors, marketing managers, and developers to align infrastructure capabilities with campaign goals.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3–5 years of experience administering WordPress or Drupal environments (or both), including staging-to-prod workflows.
  • Strong command-line comfort with Linux web servers (Ubuntu/CentOS), Apache/Nginx, and shell scripting.
  • Experience working with CDN platforms (e.g., Cloudflare, Akamai) and DNS management.
  • Proficient in version control tools (Git, Bitbucket) and CI/CD deployment strategies.
  • Solid grasp of web security protocols (OWASP, SSL/TLS, permissions hardening).
  • Familiarity with MySQL/PostgreSQL for basic database operations and optimizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in solving technical issues under tight time constraints.
