Job Description

We are seeking a VFX Artist with a refined eye for detail and a strong grasp of both cinematic aesthetics and technical execution. You won’t just be compositing explosions or throwing particles at a screen — you’ll be crafting atmosphere, integrating narrative-driven effects, and elevating the tone and texture of a scene in collaboration with directors and editors. This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between photorealism and stylized effects, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment that values experimentation, storytelling, and precision.

You’ll work closely with our editorial, lighting, and animation teams to design, simulate, and composite VFX for commercial, feature, and episodic content. You must be comfortable taking a shot from concept to completion, including problem-solving workflows, balancing render times with visual quality, and knowing when to push pixels or when to leave the frame alone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute visual effects including environmental enhancements, simulations (smoke, fire, water, debris), and stylized treatments
  • Seamlessly integrate 2D/3D elements into live-action footage using compositing and tracking techniques
  • Collaborate with directors and post supervisors to interpret creative briefs into actionable VFX solutions
  • Develop bespoke tools or scripts (when needed) to streamline repetitive tasks or unique pipeline challenges
  • Match lighting and color space for photorealistic compositing
  • Optimize shots for performance without sacrificing quality
  • Work under tight deadlines while maintaining version control and file organization
  • Actively participate in review sessions, offering and implementing notes with a problem-solving mindset

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a VFX Artist in film, television, or high-end commercials
  • Expert proficiency in Nuke (compositing), After Effects, and at least one 3D package (Maya, Houdini, Blender, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of tracking, keying, matte painting, rotoscoping, and 3D integration
  • Experience with FX simulations such as particles, cloth, fire, and fluid in Houdini or equivalent
  • Ability to interpret raw plates and work with various camera formats, resolutions, and color spaces
  • Familiarity with ACES pipeline, EXR workflow, and LUTs
  • Experience integrating VFX within a collaborative post pipeline (ShotGrid or ftrack a plus)
  • Ability to script or write expressions in Python or similar (bonus but not required)
  • A standout portfolio or reel showcasing a range of VFX work with clear breakdowns
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to work iteratively

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience on stylized or animated productions
  • On-set VFX supervision experience
  • Experience using Unreal Engine for VFX or virtual production
