Job Description
We’re looking for a detail-obsessed VFX Artist to join our post-production team and elevate the visual tone of our original content. This is not a plug-and-play job—we want someone who understands narrative rhythm, cinematic pacing, and how visual effects serve the story rather than distract from it. You’ll work closely with directors, editors, and CG supervisors to integrate visual effects into live-action footage across a wide variety of formats, including films, high-end digital series, and trailers. If you know how to build atmosphere, erase the unnecessary, or add the surreal—sometimes all in the same sequence—you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with directors and production designers to conceptualize effects that enhance storytelling, not overshadow it.
- Perform high-level compositing (including multi-pass, matte painting, cleanup, and green/blue screen keying) with a focus on realism and continuity.
- Create and integrate environmental effects (e.g., dust, fog, embers, water simulations) that feel organic to the footage.
- Use rotoscoping, match-moving, and tracking techniques with surgical precision, especially in scenes with erratic camera movement.
- Troubleshoot creative and technical issues, often under tight turnarounds.
- Maintain file structure discipline for project assets and versions to ensure smooth team workflows.
- Deliver frames that don’t look like “VFX” unless that’s the point.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of professional VFX experience in film, episodic content, or high-end digital production.
- Proficiency in Nuke (required); additional skills in After Effects, Houdini, or Blender a plus.
- Strong understanding of 3D compositing pipelines and a working knowledge of 3D space integration.
- Must have experience working with live-action plates and matching lighting, grain, and depth.
- Ability to visually deconstruct a shot and propose efficient methods for achieving desired effects.
- Familiarity with render passes and AOV workflows; knowledge of Redshift or Arnold workflows preferred.
- Must have an eye for subtlety, continuity, and photorealism.
- Ability to interpret feedback without taking it personally—and respond with improvements that speak for themselves.
