UX UI Designer

Your new role
You will be responsible for designing intuitive, accessible and scalable user experiences across a complex, data-driven web application. Working closely with developers, analysts, data specialists and senior stakeholders, you will translate complex requirements into high-quality, development-ready UI/UX assets within a government department.

You will lead the UI/UX stream, championing user-centred and accessible design for users, managing iterative feedback and ensuring consistent, reusable design components are delivered at pace. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills with varying levels and the confidence to navigate competing priorities while maintaining design integrity and quality.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Extensive UI/UX design experience on complex, data-driven web apps ideally in a Government setting
• Proven delivery of high-fidelity, development-ready UI/UX assets
• Strong accessibility knowledge including WCAG standards
• Experience designing new systems from a blank slate
• Confidence working autonomously at a senior, lead-designer level
• Ability to manage competing stakeholder feedback at pace
• Experience facilitating co-design workshops and user engagement
• Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma
• Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
• Ability to meet tight timelines while maintaining design quality
