Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re looking for a UX Researcher who can go beyond usability testing and help shape the future of our product strategy with deeply human insights. You’ll be embedded in a cross-functional squad that includes Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Data Analysts, working on features used by over 5 million monthly users.

This role requires a researcher who’s as comfortable running moderated diary studies over several weeks as they are redesigning an interview protocol on the fly. You will not be handed a brief—you’ll work with stakeholders to define the right problem, choose the right method, and communicate findings in a way that sparks action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Frame open-ended product problems and design research to reduce uncertainty for both design and product teams.
  • Develop mixed-methods studies (qual + quant) with an emphasis on behavioral insights, not just opinions.
  • Translate complex user behavior into design principles that can be applied at scale.
  • Lead contextual inquiries in live environments (e.g., observing users in their workflows, shadowing sales/customer success calls).
  • Create stakeholder workshops to synthesize and align on research findings—not just decks.
  • Partner with data analysts to triangulate findings and build behavioral models.
  • Actively mentor product teams on how to think like researchers, fostering a self-service research culture where appropriate.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

  • Have 3–5 years of UX research experience in digital product development (SaaS or tools with complex user journeys preferred).
  • Have planned and led end-to-end studies that directly influenced roadmap decisions, not just design tweaks.
  • Are fluent in tools like dscout, Optimal Workshop, or Lookback—and know when not to use them.
  • Can navigate ambiguity and define research goals independently, even when product asks are fuzzy.
  • Have a portfolio that includes not just what you did, but why it mattered—and what changed because of your work.
  • Are comfortable challenging assumptions, not just validating designs.
  • Are confident presenting to execs and saying “this finding contradicts our assumptions—and here’s what we do about it.”

Bonus if you:

  • Have experience with B2B platforms, especially tools that support workflows in finance, legal, or healthcare.
  • Have worked on AI/ML-powered features and explored how users build trust with automation.
  • Are adept at using survey data to complement qual insights without reducing people to bar graphs.
